There are three scholarship programs our Lodge supports.  All three Programs are open to all High School Seniors, who are American Citizens and Florida residents.

 


HOPE

The Florida State Elks Association sponsors our Helping Others Promotes Elkdom (HOPE) scholarship program. The mission of the Florida State Elks Association HOPE Scholarship is to provide financial support for the educational needs of Florida high school seniors without which they would not be able to achieve their educational goals.

  1. Eligibility – Scholarships are available to high school seniors, or the related equivalents, only.  College students or high school juniors are not eligible to enter this competition.    Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date the application is signed.    Legal permanent resident status does not qualify.
  2. Criteria – Applicants will be judged on and financial need, scholarship, and leadership. Leadership scores will be based on a student’s employment, community service, honors and awards, positions of leadership, extracurricular activities and essay. Scholarships are available only to students who enroll in four-year undergraduate degree programs at accredited U.S. American colleges or universities.    It is acceptable for a student to enroll in a two-year college for the first two years of the four-year program. 
  3. Application Procedure – Applicants must download the application from the Florida State Elks Association official web site at: www.floridaelks.org Applications sponsored by Palm Coast Elks #2709 must be filed with the Secretary on or before the first Friday in December.

Most Valuable Student

The Elks National Foundation (ENF) offers through our Most Valuable Student scholarship competition, 500 awards ranging from $1,000 a year to $15,000 a year for the academic year:

  1. Eligibility – Most Valuable Student scholarships are available to high school seniors, or the related equivalents, only.  College students or high school juniors are not eligible to enter this competition.    Applicants must be citizens of the United Stateson the date the application is signed.    Legal permanent resident status does not qualify.
  2. Criteria – Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need. Leadership scores will be based on a student’s employment, community service, honors and awards, positions of leadership, extracurricular activities and essay. Scholarships are available only to students who enroll in four-year undergraduate degree programs at accredited U.S. American colleges or universities.    It is acceptable for a student to enroll in a two-year college for the first two years of the four-year program.  A student may apply for more than one ENF scholarship; however, they may win only one.   In cases where the student qualifies for more than one, we will award the scholarship with the greater value.
  3. Application Procedure – All applications must be filed no later than firdt Monday of December, with  the Lodge Scholarship Chair.
